Friends in the Autumn of Life

Friends in the Autumn of Life

Everyone needs a sense of belonging
someone to truly see and hear them, not just through a video call,
but in real life a real friend.

A true friend offers the comfort of being part of something beyond oneself.
Yet, making friends in today’s fast-paced world feels like climbing a steep hill without a map.

Giving time to friendships seems like a luxury when everyone is consumed by duties, responsibilities,
and family obligations.

During adulthood, friends become our chosen counsellors,
our extended family,
and the constant in a sea of change.

Relocating to a new place adds to loneliness.
One might have earned recognition and built a circle of friends,
but stripped of that identity and network,
isolation creeps in.

Only real friends walk with us through life’s transitions.
Finding such friends in the autumn of life,
especially in a new place, is not easy.
It takes effort, patience, and a willingness
to build lasting connections.

Every Day is Mother’s, Father’s, and Teacher’s Day

Mother’s Day is not just on May 11,

Father’s Day is not only on June 15,
and Teacher’s Day is not confined to September 5.

All 365 days of the year belong to mothers, fathers, and teachers.

They are the human forms of the Almighty
raising and mentoring children not for appreciation,
but out of love, sacrifice, and devotion.

A mother gives unconditional love,
sacrificing her own joys for her children’s happiness—
her worth can never be measured.

A father burns like a candle, day in and day out,
to fulfil his children’s dreams and secure their future.

A teacher, like a beacon of light,
guides pupils toward academic excellence,
acting as a mentor, friend, and philosopher.

These special days are only tokens of gratitude.
Let us care for them, respect them,
and support them for life with reverence and love.

Keep the Promise

Having set a high target,
fully aware of the risks ahead,
promise yourself to achieve it—come what may!

Begin your challenging journey.
Attractions along the way may tempt you to stray—
it’s not easy to resist them.

Fatigue may whisper, “Stop and rest.”
You may feel like giving up halfway.
But remind yourself of the promise you made.
You must keep it.

You cannot afford to quit or slow down.
Unmindful of the risks, continue with unwavering self-belief.
Stay focused, stay determined—
and you are sure to hit your target!

“Nosibo” Effect – You Alone Harm Yourself

Our feelings are the result of our thoughts.

As we think, so we act—
and those actions can either better or batter our lives.

Love, care, sincerity, patience, and gratitude are core values.
They define us, strengthen us, and help us achieve success and excellence.
These values should be at the heart of all our choices and decisions.

We are what our thoughts are.
Positive thoughts uplift us and improve our health,
while negative thoughts harm us deeply.

The Latin term “Nosibo Effect” means:
“You alone harm yourself.”
By entertaining negative thoughts, we ruin our health and happiness.

Invite positive thoughts.
Drive away the negatives.
Let your mind be filled with core values
because they lead you to excellence and a fulfilling life.

Become What You Want to Be

Strive to be victorious—at all costs.

Victory, even in the face of fear, is possible.

However long and hard the road may be,
don’t be disappointed if things don’t go as expected.
Keep moving forward.

Broaden your horizons.
Learn to handle the highs and lows with equal grace.
Avoid haste—it can lead to regret later.

Be patient good things always come to those who wait.
Stay focused with new routines and a realistic, workable attitude.

Remember: growth often comes through struggle.
You are sure to win in the end—
and become what you truly want to be.

Then, receive a big round of applause from everyone!

Appreciate and Respect the Woman in Your Life

She changes her name and home,

leaves her loving parents and family to enter yours.
She transforms your house into a home—a sweet home.

She carries your child,
endures pregnancy that changes her body,
becomes obese, and suffers unbearable pain in the labour room
just to gift you lovely kids who bear your name.

She fulfils every household duty,
cares for your elderly parents with love and concern,
and does everything at the cost of her career, hobbies, health, and happiness.

She keeps you relaxed, happy, and benefited.
She is the Prema and Deepa the love and light of your home.

So, dear men
Who is really doing a favour to whom?

Always respect and appreciate the woman in your life.
She deserves it every single day.

Laughter – The Best Medicine

Laughter is the simplest way to lead a happy life.
It’s a universal language—no translation needed.
It costs nothing, yet connects people and lifts spirits.

Laughter builds resilience, promotes empathy,
and strengthens relationships.
People who laugh often live happier and healthier lives.

It’s like a form of yoga
a natural therapy and the best medicine for the soul.

So laugh—laugh—laugh!
Because every smile adds years to your life
and life to your years.

The Unsung Architect

The Unsung Architect

A mother is the metaphor for all that is benevolent
affectionate, loving, and selfless in this world.

The modern-day mother wears many hats and plays countless roles.
Beyond nurturing, protecting, and shaping her children with unwavering devotion,
she becomes the bank where her kids deposit their worries
and withdraw solace.

She is delicacy and strength rolled into one
a force that can weather any storm,
a hurricane in perfect power.
Not just a caretaker, but a leader too.

Multitalented and multitasking with ease,
she manages her home and career with innovative skill.
A true superhero performing wonders every day.

She suppresses her own desires,
sacrifices silently and loves unconditionally
never imposing expectations,
but nurturing passions through challenges.

She shields her children in times of loss,
provides emotional reassurance,
and silently endorses their dreams.
She stands as a constant pillar behind them
through the storms of their careers—
the unsung architect of their success.

To her, a child is a child for life
a bond she never abandons.
A mother can be nothing else but a mother.
She is a glimpse of heaven on earth.

Find Joy in Challenging Challenges

 Find Joy in Challenging Challenges

You may encounter many defeats
but you must never be defeated.

In fact, it’s better to face some defeats;
only then do you truly discover who you are.
Rise from them and move forward.

Every disruption holds the potential to become a possibility.
Never let possibilities turn into disasters.
Propel yourself to a new level—
stay grounded yet flexible.

With vision, you can transform uncertainties
into tremendous certainties.
Expect the unexpected—
and let it fuel your imagination and creative spirit,
not dampen your resolve.

But remember: don’t expect too much too soon.
Success takes time and persistence.

Find joy in challenging the challenges  because that’s where true growth begins.

Are We Burdens?

 Are We Burdens?

Do you really find us burdensome?
Are we branded as “beroons”?

Didn’t we labour for decades in our professions
to give you comforts beyond our means?
Didn’t we save every hard-earned penny
to gift you a bright career and future
often at the cost of our own joys?

Why brand us as burdens when we now try
to enjoy the pleasures and pursue the hobbies
we missed because of responsibilities?

There is still life in these years
years we once wrote off.
We want to rewrite our aging script as a golden age,
to grab life by the horns instead of fading quietly
into the autumn of our journey.

We want to love ourselves, breathe freely,
and rekindle our lost desires.
Do you expect us to lock ourselves indoors,
in a rocking chair or wheelchair,
eagerly waiting for a video call from kids and grandkids?

Permit us to live life on our own terms
until our last journey
to redefine autumnal glamour before the final call
from the Almighty to bid goodbye.
